Lanka Graphite starts trading on ASX, targets graphene market

Lanka Graphite on Friday commenced trading on the ASX under the ticker LGR, following the completion of the merger of Viculus and Euro Petroleum. The firm holds exploration licences for high-purity graphite sites in Sri Lanka, and hopes to mine it for use in “new graphene technology”. GrafTech Q2 sales worse than analysts expected, $17m adjusted net loss

GrafTech, the natural and synthetic graphite producer, reported net sales of $165m in the second quarter of this year. This figure is 42 per cent down on the same period last year, and was almost $30m worse than analysts had forecast. In response, the firm’s management today restated their commitment to deliver savings of $50m through “cost saving initiatives”. [Read more…]

Alabama Graphite to expand its 2015 drilling program

Alabama Graphite, the flake graphite exploration company, has announced the expansion of its 2015 summer drilling program at the company’s Coosa Graphite Project in Alabama. The aim is to target additional areas which may yield large quantities of large-size flake graphite. The firm previously discovered naturally-occurring graphene at the site. [Read more…]
