Bio-on inks $1.4m agreement with University of Hawaii to develop new bioplastics

As part of the new research, agricultural refuse (incuding wood processing waste) will be added to the products, which Bio-on currently uses to create bioplastics, namely sugar beet and sugar cane.

The Italian bioplastics manufacturer, Bio-on, announced yesterday it had entered into a $1.4 million agreement with the University of Hawaii to develop PHAs from domestic and agricultural refuse, as well as wood processing waste. [Read more…]
